Downtown
We went downtown yesterday to check out Mike's new office and ended up wandering around. While KC has done a lot of redevelopment in the Power and Light District, just a couple of blocks either way are great old buildings in various stages of disrepair. It's a shame new developers can't recreate the grace and character found in these old treasures.
I really liked the way the light reflected on the fire escape in this structure. The deep shadows of the stairs against the orange-red brick created a strong, complex image.
Yes, I was a math major and am still struck by geometric shapes in abstract images. I discovered this design in the facade of a building directly north of Mike's office.
